OLE is developing online and offline networking resources that will enable OLE Centers and the OLE Consortium to create and support social networks. These include such basic tools as contact management and mailing list software as well as voice and video networking tools. Throughout OLE’s activities we are keenly aware of the wide range of infrastructures that are available to teachers and students throughout the world.
OLE’s technology strategy is to take advantage of appropriate technologies whenever possible, but to realize such approaches will not be applicable in all places to all teachers and all children. We are always eager to search out and find educational strategies that require little or no technology, or that can use “home grown” technologies, which can be used in the many places around the world that still do not have electricity or even roads.
