OLE is in the process of developing a series of software tools that will help OLE Centers quickly and inexpensively provide basic education services within their country.  Three such customizable tools are under development.

OLE Library

OLE is developing a digital library system designed to make high quality open learning resources available to all children, even in the most remote parts of the world.  The OLE Library System is designed to work from the global to the personal levels. The system can easily be configured as a National Library that will include those materials deemed by their government to be essential and appropriate for their students and it can be configured as an offline, or online, School Library. more…

OLE Network

OLE Guide

The web-based Guide to Learning Innovations is being designed to be a resource for learning innovations throughout the world.  We think of it as a hybrid of Consumers’ Reports, Wikipedia, and YouTube. It currently has three sections: Demonstrations, Hardware, and Software. more…

Technical Details

We are using the Open Source Drupal web framework as the web application platform to develop these tools. Drupal provides a balace of ease of use and power that makes it an ideal choice for building web based applications that are robusts, flexible and able to be locally modified. Our project is all open source and free for anyone to use as is or adapt to their needs.
