OLE Centers

OLE Centers emerge within each country in a manner reflecting their particular needs and resources. Each OLE Center is responsible for:

1. Establishing, or joining, a formal non-governmental organization in country with a strong Board of Directors committed to the OLE mission and capable of influencing public and private policies and resources for basic education in their country.

2. Developing and maintaining an open and free online library of basic education curricula appropriate for their country.

3. Providing micro-grants for the improvement of existing curricula and the development of new curricula for basic education.

4. Implementing a research and evaluation program to identify their most effective educational programs.

5. Promoting increased public awareness and support for free and open basic education through local communication channels.

6. Coordinating with other local economic and social development initiatives critical to achieving universal basic education in their country.
